Welcome to the Web site of the Ebb Tide Rugby Football Club—the oldest
continuously operating Over-40 rugby club in British Columbia, Canada.
We have active players between the ages of 39 (40th year) and
72 and active social members up to the age of 83. Social members and
visitors are welcome to join us at our regular Thursday evening run-around.
As
a founding member of the 11 team Pacific North-West Over 40 Rugby Union
(a sub-union of the BCRU), we play
approximately 20 games per season. Our 60-minute games are played
according to regular
rugby laws including full-power scrums. We allow
free substitution to ensure everyone gets a chance to play. All games
are followed by a drink and a meal with our opponents.
Our
“cradle-to-grave” involvement in rugby begins with our active support of
mini-rugby, continues through our support of
Crimson Tide
representative teams and the Pacific Pride—Canada’s Under-23 Development
team. Our members are actively involved with all the senior men’s clubs
in Victoria. We also have a very active
social schedule that includes
partners and other friends.
